Procedures 1. The contrast medium can highlight specific areas inside the body, resulting in a clearer picture. You may feel warm all over when it is injected through your arm. Contrast medium injection can cause the slight (e.g. vomit, measles) or serious reactions (e.g.: asthma, shock, renal failure or spasm). *The chance of causing death is minimal. 2. You are required to remain still during the exam to ensure the images are clear. 3. The examination table will move into and out of the scanner opening. Only a small part of your body will be inside at any one time. You may be asked to hold the breath to be sure that the images will not be blurred.
